Hector Garza has been a flourishing independent artist and a dedicated Fine Arts instructor based in San Antonio for the last fifteen years. His art celebrates his cultural identity as a Mexican American while also reimagining the intersection of Mexican traditions and contemporary American pop culture.  As an innovative educator, Garza has infused his teaching with the themes and movements that inspire his own work. After receiving a B.A. in Art with a Minor in Music from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2004, he taught Fine Arts at Holy Cross of San Antonio High School for two years. Garza went on to earn an M.A. in Education from the University of Notre Dame in 2008.   He currently teaches Fine Arts and Painting at Holy Cross of San Antonio and Sacred Art and Architecture at the Mexican American Catholic College.  He is currently working on completing his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
