Art is life, life is art. This statement has always rung true for me. Ever since I can remember I have always loved art. In a way Art has saved my life. Living in San Antonio I have seen the city change so much. I have realized that the city that I grew up is in many ways not the same city it is today. for this reason I have dedicated much of my painting time to trying to capture some of the places before they are gone.I have also dedicated much of my time to learning and improving my skills as a figurative artist. If art is a form of communication, then the human figure is the best way to communicate a visual message. Through portraits and figurative paintings I practice capturing a person's essence, and in my narrative works I use this experience to communicate a deeper emotive message.
